Trying to bump up the running and doesn’t matter if I run inside or out, I’m just happy to be running. Today was a nice and easy three miler. Did the 3 miles in 26:15 for a pace of 8:45 minute miles.

Running Log :: Peace
I love this trail. I seem to always find a sence of peace and purpose when I give myself over to it. When I can find that moment where I focus on my breathing, on loosing myself to the surrounding and just be. It’s not an easy place to get to at times. It can seem downright impossible but then all of a sudden you are pulled away from it and you realize you were just there. You achieve it, there was nothing around! You were removed from it all and there was peace!
Running Log :: Chomping at the bit
I have been chomping at the bit all day to get outside and run. At lunch I decided to hit the gym for my workout as I hate working out like it was yesterday night, packed Anyhow as soon as I got home I prepared myself to head out. I wore shorts with long sleve technical and a short sleeve over top and a toque. I warmed up really quick and it was perfect out. Enjoyed the run but the hip pain was very different between outside and the treadmill. All is good though, did my mileage.
Running Log :: Should have been outside
Went for a run at the gym today and after I stepped outside it seemed to have warmed up. Arrrrr, should have run outside. With that said I’m very happy with the outcome anyhow, I got up to 4 miles today with ease. I just really want to take it slow. I will call later today to see if I can get on a cancelation list for the MRI. I hate having to wait till March 2012 to even get seen, that isn’t even a fix. Just an MRI. I don’t want to spend my summer recovering again.
Today’s was a nice and easy 4 mile run, taking 36:26 for an average pace of 9:07. Far cry from the 7:10 minute miles but really don’t want to push myself out of running.
Running Log :: Treadmill
Still running on the treadmill. Also got my MRI booked and it’s a 5 month wait. That is just insane. I’m going to run anyhow, what other choice is there. Anyhow hit the gym today for a run but didn’t have time for a workout. Won’t have time this evening either as I have the girls. Anyhow was happy to up it another half mile up to 3 miles today. Today I kept the pace low to increase the half mile and make sure not to strain anything. I’ll have a couple days off running to recover and keep the swelling down with Celebrex so next week should be good. Try and be up to somewhere between 4 and 5 by the end of the week.
Running Log :: Celebrex
Well the Celebrex really seems to be working. My level of pain has dimished tramendously. I’m slowly building up the running again. I can’t wait to get into an MRI machine to really find out what is going on but for now, it’s mileage buildup time. Today was a nice and easy 2.5 miler just to loosen everything up and try running two days in a row. I wake up so pain free at the moment and just love it. Did my 2.5 miles in a very relaxed 22:32 minutes.
Welcome home Tiger
Well last year Airlie wanted a bird for her birthday and I always said as soon as I paint the house. I’m still not done painting the house and really was avoiding the bird. So this year for her birthday she wanted a cat. I didn’t at all mind the cat idea and when the girls aren’t around it’s pretty quiet so voilà, welcome to your new home Tiger. He was hand picked by the birthday girl herself so it’s even better.
Running Log :: Only a run
Now that I’m slowly increasing the running I can only either get in a run or a workout at lunch. I decided I’ll do the run now and go back this evening for a workout and possibly a swim. I added .5 miles today to my 2 mile runs of last week. I really don’t want to push it and end up not being able to run. I plan to train for the Around The Bay race again this year so see what happens. Today’s run was 2.5 miles in 22:07, nice and slow, gradual increases…
Running Log :: Happy Birthday
Well it was Airlie’s birthday today. I took the girls out for McDonalds so needed to work that off. We also had a hockey game today so there was no workout on the ice for me. Headed to the gym and did a run and a workout. Run was 2 miles in 17:53 and workout was chest, abs and arms.
Sabers — Ottawa
Shawn got us some good seats for the Sabers Vs. Ottawa game in Buffalo. Was a great game with the Sabers pulling off a 5-1 victory over the Senators. You can catch all the highlights at http://video.sabres.nhl.com/videocenter/console?hlg=20112012,2,225&fr=false
Here are a few pics of the game and warmup.
