Running Log :: Trying
Wow I feel sick
This is by far the most stressful thing I’ve embarked on. I would have never guessed years ago when we were dancing at the wedding, laughing and having the time of our lives that this would be a part of it. Reading some of the things this same person has written about me are heart wrenching. What happened to the Blue Mountain Art cards? This building is filled with missery and pain, failed dreames and people wishing to cause such pain. At the end of our session we are no further ahead. The only winners today are the lawyers who make a small fortune.
Running Log :: Pushing past hip pain
Maybe it isn’t the smartest thing to do, to try and run through the hip pain but I can’t keep going the way I’m going. Running has always been my release.
Workout :: Awesome workout
I love leaving the gym and just feeling like you can’t move your arms and that your back is 2″ wider. It is a great feeling when you do everything in Supersets and make sure you don’t even have a chance to catch your breath. Today’s workout was back (the three different hammersmith machines), shoulders (shoulder press and bend over seated lateral raises), abs (bench leg ups, hanging leg raises and side crunches on assist machine) and arms (incline dumbell curls, preacher curls, dip machine and tricept machine). What an awesome workout. Maybe hit the pool tonight.
Running Log :: Post injection
First run since my cortisone injection so figured I might as well run barefoot as the distance won’t be great and probably shouldn’t run every day. I did the Victoria Park look for 2 miles and my calves had had enough. It was perfect timing. Fact is I’m going to have to build up really slow this time around and not plan for anything before next spring. Take the pace right down, distance down and just work on getting back in shape. Focus on eating, stretching, maybe some yoga and working out. Hit the pool and work on that as a secondary cardio.
Early morning
Well I’m reminded more and more of my youth as I lace up her skates and smell the ice. The greatness that is hockey. I was in the coach’s clinic yesterday and am all ready to help out and learn more. Anyhow the post is just to remind myself of how great it is to smell the early ice as a dad.
