This was a very good run. I’m so glad I decided to head out. I ended up doing a nice hilly 5 miler around work area. Wondering if I’ll be able to try and do the gym tonight. LIght weights, high reps. See what my body feels like later.

Running Log :: Getting there
Recover is getting there. I still haven’t tried the gym yet but really need to start that and some Yoga. I’ve got a Yoga DVD at home so will have to slowly get into that as well. My range of motion has been tramendously affected and it will certainly be a long process getting it back. I notice it most when I have to try and turn to look for traffic etc. There was a deer on the trail today at my 2 mile mark, I stopped to get a good look and he didn’t move to far away so it was a good view.
Running Log :: Buildup
Out for another run today and determined to build up a bit of mileage. I did walk twice and stretched during this run which is necessary as I only ran 6 miles in July and 45 in June. To have gone from 111 miles in March to this is a great challenge but I’m also very excited about it. This was a 9 mile run and my IT band is still tight so some stretching of it after it’s warmed up along the route is great.
Running Log :: Trail closed half way
Went for a run and to do the stairs at Dundurn today. Noticed part way up the hill the trail was closed at the first bridge. I was hoping to run up to the 403 but that wouldn’t be the case today. Instead I did 2 up and downs of the trail to the bridge and back and the stairs two times. It was a good workout and I don’t feel to sore today.
Florida :: Day 7 — A FAMILY VACATION
Well today is the last day of a TRUE FAMILY VACATION. I hate that we are going home already. Today we were up early as I have told the girls well in advance that we would have at least one IHOP breakfast. Today was the day. I figured it would be packed but the restaurant was so big. Great service and of course, my favourite food!!! All the kids loved it and we had some serious overfilling of food. We didn’t eat again till supper time except for a few snacks. After IHOP we headed down to Sea World for our second free visit. What a great day and we hit the shows. After spending the day in insane heat we headed back just after 4 pm to the townhouse for some pool, cervesas and pizza. Needed to cool down so the pool was in order. We partied around the pool with the kids and new friends and finished up just before 9pm. Another great day, unfortunatly the last…
Florida :: Day 6 — Pool AM and Clearwater
Before heading down to Clearwater Florida I took the kids to the pool so they can have it to themselves and go down the slide and play in the pool. Figured I’d get them out while Anne was preparing the lunches. After about an hour of reading while the kids were playing we went and got Anne and Syd and made our way to Clearwater. Again thundershowers were in the forecast but we managed to get a great day in before they arrived. Kids just loved the Gulf Coast side of the ocean and the white sand. I went for a run while we were down there and a walk with Syd in the shops. There is a great park for the kids and eventually the showers hit. Again another great day and tomorrow is the last day and it going to be another Sea World day.
Running Log :: Clearwater is HOT
I decided at the last minute to throw on the running shoes and give the beach a go. Anne was with the kids while I decided to run along the beach. It was a great run but when the sun would come it was just overboard hot. Great view along the ocean and there is a great pier as well. Anyhow glad I got a good run in.
Florida :: Day 5 — Sea World
Well today was supposed to be half a day at the pool and half a day at Sea World. There wasn’t much of a price difference between Sea World and Disney except at least Sea World gives you one day free with the purchase of the tickets. We headed down just after noon and after about 2 hours by the pool side. I have to say Marineland Ontario is a bloody dump compared to this. Marineland should be ashamed of itself and it’s no wonder Sea World wants their Killer Whale back. This place is just incredible for both kids and adults. We started out with a coaster ride for Sydney and Anne. After that we ended up petting the Sting Rays. How awesome was that. All the girls were soooo scared at first and then they warmed up to the idea. Sydney wanted another coaster so we agreet to meet up at the Whale show. Well, there were two different Whale Show’s at the same time and we met up at different ones. Well I should say we didn’t meet up and Syd and I walked around for over an hour to eventually give up and head to guest services. Well who did we run into at guest services, you guessed it. “THEM”!!!!!! Soo tired at this point from walking around. We went to the kids amusement section where the kids had a great time riding the kids rides. The rain started but it was so late and we were ready to go home. On the way out we saw the Dolphin Nursery where the mothers and new borns are kept for the first year t0 year and a half of birth. It was great and the kids just loved it as you can get right up and close with them and watch them swim around and feed their young. We will certainly go back for the second free day to catch all the shows we missed.
Florida :: Day 4 — Take it easy
Well today was a totaly lazy day and an insane down pour of rain for hours. We had to run out and get groceries and the rain didn’t let up. It went on and on and on. Anyhow the girls had an awesome day on the waterslide and in the pool. Tomorrow, Sea World….
