Running Log :: Anne and Wind

Went out for a run last night to give support to Anne through her long run. This wasn’t a scheduled run but after a six day layoff for some much needed recovery it was good to take it slow. Got through her 8 mile run with little difficult but it sure was windy out there. Gusts comming out of the West at 37 km/h., at least we had half the with the wind at our backs. Ran along the lake which also oddly enough handed us some breakes from the wind as it was coming from the West so the stretch of houses on Beach Blvd (I think that’s the name of the street)provided some relief.

Workout :: NO RUN

Calves are still killing me from all the work in the Vibrams. Need to slow it down a bit. Hope to run tomorrow in my shoes. Headed to the gym for a lunch workout. It was short, only about 30 minutes. Doing abs, arms and some shoulders and back. Shoulder still can’t support dips yet. Not sure how long that will take.

Kids training :: 1km n Stairs

Took the girls for a training run for their upcomming race. We did 1km and I did it in my Vibrams. The girls did awesome run up the hill and back down. After the run they did the Chedoke Stairs up and down 1 time. Was a great workout taking about 20 minutes.

Running Log :: SORE

Very sore today. The run on the weekend took it’s tole and I only took the one rest day. I did my 5 mile training run which is still somewhat on par for Mississauga but I’m not going to be ready for that one if I hope to qualify so going to just keep training and get my comfortable mileage base up. Also going to slowly start my transition to barefoot running. Picked up the Vibram 5 Fingers yesterday and have been wearing them around when I can’t be completely barefoot. Anyhow tomorrow is supposed to be 10 miles. See how I feel and might throw in a rest day.

Rollerblades :: new

Got rollerblades as a Christmas gift from my dad (gift card which I used towards new rollerblades). Anyhow went out for some cross training today to loosen up the legs from yesterdays run and love the new blades. Went down to Confederation Park to follow Anne on her 7 mile training run. They did the job and as did the cross train session. Legs felt great.

Running Log :: this one had it all

This was an awesome run, it had all the goodies. Stairs, snow, hills, trails, water and roads were all a part of this one. I had no goal when I went out. No idea how far I was going to go or how legs were going to feel. Turned out wonderful, bit windy at times but other than that perfect!
