This was a good concert all in all. It really was more of a chick concert but good none the less. Christina Perry is quite a humble singer which was refreshing. Talking about how her life changed with Jar Of Hearts being played on a TV show and from there she was able to quite working her day job and focus on this. Guess because it’s still so new for her. James Blunt was great to see in this small venue. Sound was great and as usualy even the balcony seats are a great view.

Running Log :: OLD MAN
Wow do I feel old today. Must be the weather, everything hurts. Could also be fighting this sickness that my daughter had on the weekend. I slept 10 hours last night and it doesn’t feel like enough. Today the rain and cold just seemed to get into my bones and it is killing me. My breating wasn’t bad in it during the run and my pace wasn’t bad considering the pain that I was in for the entire run and worse the pain I find myself in now writing this blog entry. I would have pushed out another mile or two but my body was screaming enough, enough. I came back down a different street and that at least made it a bit interesting running past the coppers on horseback and Jackson Square. Man there are some strange people out there!!!
Easter Sunday :: Double Dutch
Not to be outdone by my sister, nor my parents and kids I had to be the double dutch king. Realizing looking at the video I look more like a big queen ahahahaha. We had a great time and a great weekend even looking after a little sick one. My little sick one was up and down all weekend and took advantage of every up moment to have serious fun. She also had great sisters that all helped look after her and make sure that the weekend wasn’t a lost weekend.
Running Log :: My own Heartbreak Hill 13.1 miles
Went out for a quick run with no plan. Unlike skydiving where you plan the dive and dive the plan I go for a run with my garmin and no plan. Stupid me forgot the water today. When I first set out I figured 5 to 7 miles due to the fact there were no liquids. Well somehow the hill at Mount Albion got into my head and I though why not try and tackle the hill. Oh my, what a hill. The bay race hill wasn’t even this bad. This is the most insane hill I’ve run to date. You can see looking at the details the elevation gain. I went from 289′ to 652′ over a 3.4 mile span. I managed to keep a rockin pace over it. Moreover maintaining my pace through what turned out to be a 13.1 (Half Marathon) run with no water. At the end I saw some friends (Alain and Donna) in their van and if the Gods weren’t smiling down on me, they had water bottles in the van. Hydration!!! Today was a great running day, 21km plus 1km with the girls this morning.
Bunny Hop and Good Friday 10 miler
Today was another running day for the girls. Unfortunatly Taitai was not well and ended up being looked after by her big sister while we headed over to Burlington for the big race. Airlie, Nyah and myself ran in the 1km race as I was sporting my little sick ones running bib to ensure she got her medal. With a huge fever, ear ache and having thrown up she was dressing trying so hard to convince me to take her for her race. She wanted her medal. After presenting her with the medal I got running for her I advised her that as soon as she’s well we can go for a quick 1km race so she can have earned it… heheheh The three of us then supported Anne for her first race, the Good Friday 10 miler. Great run and I felt like a proud coach. Anyhow great day…
Workout :: Still catching breath
It’s been 25 minutes since my workout and I’m still recovering and trying to catch my breath. Today I pushed it hard to try and get the shoulder back. I lowered the weight on shoulder workout and increased reps. I managed to do good shoulder presses and bent over latteral raises. Shoulder held up pretty good for both of those. Did some good abs also doing toe catches, decline crunches with a 25lbs weight and my shoulders were pretty bulded up to give me support to do hanging leg raises. I did seated rows to work the back as I didn’t want to take a chance with lat pull downs. Did some good arm workouts also with rope press downs, reverse one arm cable press downs and cable curls. This was by far my most intense workout since shoulder seperation on Dec 23rd.
Running Log :: great 5 miles
It was much colder at run time than it was this morning. I think it was the lack of sun hidden behind the clouds that had rolled in and the wind that that cold front brought with it. I avoided the Chedoke Trail to try something flat but it turned out to be pretty hilly. There isn’t that much of a difference between the two based on a 5 mile run. Anyhow I really pushed through it and warmed up and ran a good pace the entire run. Must be the avoidance of beer at yesterdays hockey game.
Sabers out of gas
Game three of the Sabers V. Flyers series and Shawn managed to get us some great seats. 15 rows up near the blue line. You can’t get much better, getting to seen most of the game from that spot. Headed down and got there early enough to see the preskate. Game was not overly impressive, some good goals and few cheesy ones. Sabers looked like there were already out of gas and this is game 3 of round one. Great experience though as usual and the tickets were very cheep which I love. 60$ for playoff tickets on the 15th row.
Running Log :: Hard run
Went out for a good hard run. Didn’t plan on it being fast pace but before I knew it I was feeling great and pushing myself. Even an extra two miles. I didn’t plan no this run being like this and just hope that I won’t be paying for it tomorrow. See what kind of mileage I can get in this weekend with no kids, problem is I have a party. Those always lead to trouble!!!
Running Log :: Chedoke Trail
Up and down we go, back on the Chedoke Trail. It’s been some time since I’ve pushed myself on the Chedoke Trail. I headed out from work with no real plan but before I knew it I was making my way to the Chedoke Trail. I raced up Mountain Ave and that set the rythm for the run. I pushed it most of the time with just two short breaks for a drink of water. I really need to get some speed work in as the rules for Boston Qualifications have changed.
