The snowboard accident made worse by the car accident have taken their toll on me. My buildup run stopped at 10 miles which was 4 miles short. This week the focus is going to have to be on nutrition and sleep. I’m going to double up my runs with morning and evening runs. I did the first 8 miles a bit to fast and that surely led to my bonking as well as the stess of seperation and divorce. I’m going to shoot for 15 miles this weekend and make certain it is an outdoor run. The treadmill also is deflating. It’s hot in the gym and my mind beat me up before I even got going. did 10 miles in 1:18:15 for an average pace of7:50 minute miles.

Running Log :: 5 miles
Five miler at the gym for lunch. Point was to just get through the mileage and try and continue buildup. Been a tough week and training is sporatic. Anyhow did the 5 miles in 38:03 for an average pace of 7:37 minute miles.

It was very windy out and not super hot but warm enough for shorts, WOOHOO!!!! I love being able to not only run outside but throw on a pair of shorts. Today’s run was a nice and easy 3 miler as I took a couple extra days off this week. This was just a crazy week with the girls, lawyers, physio. All in all awesome fun run in the heat!
Running Log :: Had to leave
I hit the gym for my run tonight but didn’t plan the timing right and my 14 mile run turned into 10 miles. Physio appointement got in the way but it’s all good. Next week is supposed to be 10 miler so I’ll do the 14 miler next week. It was an ok run doing my 10 miles in 1:21:16 for an average pace of 8:08 minute miles and legs felt ok. Was very hot inside the gym though and that was killing me. Also this was first run with the New Mazuno Waverider 14′s.
Cooking :: Fresh Pasta
Having had the pasta maker for about 3 weeks now and not having done anything with it, it was time to make pasta. Had I realized how easy it is I would have done it right away. Pasta takes about 1:30 minutes to prepare and 1 hour of that is it just sitting. The other thirty is making the pasta dough and running it through the pasta maker. The recipe only requires eggs, flour and small amounts of water and olive oil. This was so easy and the reward was incredible, by far the best pasta I’ve ever had.

Took the kids on a little hill with big jump. They had a blast even trying a “snowboard” heheheh if you want to call it that. What is it with us and shoulder injuries. My middle child fell and complained her shoulder hurt. Maybe none of us should be on boards.
Running Log :: Inside
Hit the gym inside today for a good 5 miler. I’ll have to do my longrun on Monday. Did 5 miles in 38.29 running the third mile in 7 minutes. Felt great and glad I got in there. I also managed to do a very light workout. I have physio Monday so hopefully they can do something to start to eleviate the swelling and or pain.
Running Log :: Booring
Oh how we suffer during the cold months when it gets dark quickly. It wasn’t that cold this evening but it was dark out by the time I was ready to get my run in. As I’ve said so many times, not going to fall and hurt myself. I hit the treadmill again for another three mile run. Legs are a bit tired today, was going to do 5 miles but figured I’d lay up and get a rest day in and do my 5 miles on Friday. Did 3 miles in 24:50 for an average pace of 8:17 minute miles.

Well back inside for my runs on the dumb ass treadmill. Oh how I hate running inside. I just can’t take the cold nor a chance on slipping and breaking my ankle again. My running is going very well and building up is on track. Did a 3 mile run in 24:26 for an average pace of 8:09 minute miles. Keeping it very safe.
