Well I had completely forgotten about these photos. After getting back from the trip I had the girls for a week so we went to my sisters on two different occasions and also went with Anne to Binbrook Conservation with all the kids enjoying the splashpad, beach and some beech volleyball. This was at the end of July.

Running Log :: Easy 5 miler
Decided to run down by the lake tonight as it seemed like a great place to run again after quite some time not being down there for a run. Anne was running there yesterday so I decided to try it out. Had a great run and my pace wasn’t bad. Ran mile 2 a bit to qiuck but all in all it was great.
Workout :: Monseigneur again
Well another workout in the high school gym. Abs are getting some serious workouts this week. Did abs, triceps and back. Was great workout. My body lately feels like it’s always at it’s limit. I do manage to find more energy and it surprises me every time. Last night also went rollerblading following Anne as she did her long run (8 miles this week).
Workout :: High School
Oh how I wish I was back in High School with the knowledge I have today. I worked out today in the High School where our Toronto offices are. Was a great workout and I’m slowly easing my way back into both running and working out. I have to be careful not to let it get in the way of my recovery after long runs. Anyhow today I did a good all around workout. Did arms, abs, chest and shoulders. 45 minute workout and all is good…
Running Log :: Very humid
Well it was just crazy out there again. I even ended up out later because my garmin wasn’t charged enough. I was happy it lasted long enough. It was so humid out there and I
Running Log :: easy does it
Well went out for a nice and easy 5 mile maintenance run. I’m recoverying this week as next week will be my first of three 20 mile runs. These legs are starting to get tired and I’m just chomping at the bit to get to race day. I just have to qualify! Anyhow was very easy run and relaxing at the same time. Ran 5 miles in 42:37.
Running Log :: Hot run again
Just when you think the air can’t possibly get any more humid out there you get a night like tonight. I had to get through a 10 mile run and my legs were already extremely tired. There are only six more weeks till marathon day and I’m starting to get tired. This is the point where the weight just pours off and you dwindle down to marathon weight and pray for the best. I really need to have a better maintenance program for rest of year and not get injured this year… Anyhow the run was good, finished it in 1:20 and that was using the Paramount Drive loop X 3. That loop is killer because there is a hill at each pass.
Workout :: Monseigneur De Charbonnel
Well worked out at the school today. They have a good gym and there are no students at the moment so no trying to work around people. I don’t even have to work around co-workers as they were all in the gym playing soccer during lunch. Yes we do have the rough life don’t we…. Anyhow had a great workout doing shoulders (shoulder press and bent over lateral raises), arms (cable curls, reverse cable curl), chest (dumbell bench press), abs (toe catches, elbow to knee and hanging leg raises) and back (seated row and pull downs). Very happy with workout, my energy level lately is taxed with the long runs and getting back to routine after holidays.
Running Log :: HOT HOT ARRR HOT
Well went out for my 5 miler and still hot even after waiting till almost dark. I can’t wait till the humidity is gone from the air and I can get into some fall training. I’ve never really prayed for Fall to arrive like this this year. This is just insane heat… Anyhow run went well, legs quite tired from the weekends long run but much better than before my week off of running.
Concert :: Sir Paul
Well got pretty lucky again, someone Anne works with was at the Gord Downie concert (sucked) and said he had two extra tickets to Paul McCartney on Monday night and would we be interested in going. It was only $70 with taxes and fees. We are like “YEAH, are you kidding?”… Well I would never have imagined a show of this caliber, nor that a 68 year old could rock like that. The band took a break after 1.5 hrs but not Sir Paul, he stayed on and did two acoustic guitar tunes with no backing vocals or backing instruments one of which was Blackbird. What a show. His stories of John, George were great and his story about Jimmy Hendrix’s guitar being out of tune and looking into the crowd for Eric Clapton to come up and tune the guitar. I’m thinking the whole time, wow at a concert you have Jimmy playing, Eric and Paul in the crowd and Jimmy wanting Eric to come up and tune the guitar. It was an amazing show… Here is the setlist. (I’m waiting for someone to send me pics from the concert they took)
