Made our way to Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) and what a nice drive. It is a beautiful place. Of course as soon as Anne and I arrive it’s run time… We decided to run along the ocean and had a great time. I had to dodge some jelly fish but it’s all cool. There are a few good pics here of the fish. After that we headed into town (Mabou) from Inverness (where we are staying) for a night of music and drink at the “Red Shoe Pub” with some friends of hers. It was a great night of some Red Shoe Ale and fish and chips. You should know that on the way here we stopped in Antigonish at Annes old alma mater (Saint Francis Xavier University — STFX) so she could relive some old memories and see how it’s changed. Managed to get some good pictures and souvenirs and then hit her old pub “the tavern”, called Pipers Pub. Had some great Scottish Fish and Chips and pints of Propeller Bitter (Extra Special) and it was splendid. We even had a chat with the official bodyguard of the Dallas cheerleaders, can you say townie with no chicklets! Oh my lord tunderin bejesus boys! Anyhow enjoy the pics.

Running Log :: The Beach
Decided to do my run on the sand in Inverness Nova Scotia. My right leg has been hurting for quite some time now and I was hoping the sand might do me some good. Really didn’t but hey what can you do. I’m going to need to take a bit of time off to recover.
Running Log :: Lost!
Headed out for a run in New Brunswick and ended up getting lost in the woods. This was a great run, if you look at the hills it’s insane. You’ll notice that I ended up running the steaminess hill twice due to my amazing internal compass…
Saint John, NB — Day 2
Well after 15 hrs of driving across NY, Massachusetts and New Hampshire we arrived in New Brunswick at 3am and went straight to bed. Up this morning to the crack of a phone ring and deciding what to do with the day. Had a great day in Saint John checking out the Market, the Pubs, the bank and picking at my teeth. What an awesome day! Here are some photos of Saint John and a few getting gas on the way.
Running Log :: Bonked, heat and hills!
This was a crazy run. I just bonked due to heat, dehydration and hills. Was crazy to go out there and think I could run. Made worse by my stubborness.
Running Log :: Pace
Had to do my 8 mile run at pace and my Boston Pace is 7:27. I did a hilly run with a hill at two loops and the two miles back. Just looking at the results and my pace in the end is the 7:27. Woohoo.. Started out a bit strong so I was a bit tired the last few miles, plus the sun and dehydration. Can’t complain though, I did it.
Ticats from my door
Well I can hear the Tigercats game from my door as if I was on the sidelines. Today they had the Lancaster Bomber flying overhead. They had some skydivers jump out, they there throwing out streamers and other goodies from the bomber. I heard also waterbaloons but can’t confirm that one. Anyhow there was also some other dual prop plane flying but not sure what that one was. I got lots of pics. After that took the girls up to and for some fun in the sun, swimming and the park. All in all a great day.
Running Log :: Humid
This was humid. Check out the weather charts for this run. It’s now about 45 min after my run and I’m still sweating. I can’t believe how muggy it was. I would have thought the rain would have helped it a bit but I could actually see the moisture rising as I was running along King St.. This was a new running path for me but I loved running along Lawrence. I didn’t realize it came out near Mount Albion and King. I ran up to Quigley where I used to live.
