Well figured I’d better get my butt into the gym this morning. I went straight into the cardio studio to begin my workout with abs today. I started with superset of toe catches and skipping for 4 sets. Then began with elbow to knee crunches with supersets of skipping and lunges with 50lbs across the studio and back. After that did plank with toes on ball with skipping. Lastly in cardio studio was crinches knees at 90degrees with skiping between sets. After that headed to the shoulder press and did that with superset of hanging leg raises for 40 sets and up to 120lbs shoulder presses. Following the shoulder press did lateral raises. After shoulders it was time for arms with cable press down with more hanging leg raises. After that did roper overhead for tricepts then dumbell curls and dips. Was a great workout and now just burnt. Good fresh roast beef sandwitch after the workout.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Well not much to write for Valentine’s Day so I figured I’d just put a bunch of pics up and let them speak for the day. It truly doesn’t matter and to be honest even in marriage it wasn’t much cause for celebration.
Running Log :: Fergus to Elora
Well went out for a run with Paul to work off all the beer and pizza we consumed last night. We headed for a run and eventually I hear Paul say that Elora is just down the road from where we were so said well lets run there. Was an awesome run and the pictures say it all. It was around 13Km and well over an hour but stopped to take lots of pictures along the way.
Beer Day :: 3 weeks already
Well it was three weeks today and so I went to pick up my brew. I put 19L in a keg and the rest in bottles. I’m going to get the stuff I require next week to set up the kegging system. I can’t believe how great this Irish style beer tasts. Matty outdid himself with this one. I can’t wait till I’m proficient enough to start playing with the recipies a bit…
Streetview :: MY CAR?
Well a friend found a picture in SteetView of him riding his bike down a road training and I though, hey I remember the google car beside me. So I got onto Google StreetView and voilà, ma voiture (my car). It has the RonJon Sticker in the back window.
Dear John :: least there was the soundtrack
Alright, anyone who knows me would know that I’m a bit of a chick flick junkie. Yes I read the book and see the movies. This always poses a problem because they are never the same, never deliver the passion that the book deliveres. There was so much chemistry within the pages of the book and in the movie they do deliver some chemistry on screen but it’s the difference between a victoria day sparkler and the actual fireworks show. The book sells Savannah as the purest of wholesome girls, churchgoing and close to saintly. They just leave so much out and a few times I’m just left scratching my head. John is supposed to be the tattooed wild army boy. Where were the tattoos? Why couldn’t we have someone from the Chili Peppers here like they did in Point Break. Someone with some Tattoos people. Get the sharpie out and give the boy some tattoos? Tim didn’t have a son who was autistic, he had a brother! John doesn’t get shot in the book so why are we putting a shooting in the movie? She doesn’t take John to the Crab Place, she’s not from there and doesn’t know the area that well! But by far my greatest irritation with the movie was the ending, they don’t get together at the end of the book! Is it because it’s a Nicholas Sparks Novel? SHEESH! Anyhow ** stars out of *****. I’m sure if you didn’t read the book you loved the movie which is often the case.
Running Log :: Chedoke
Well went for a run on the Chedoke trail today in the Snow. There was quite a bit of accumulation so made for an interesting run. Anyhow just did an up and back to the 2 mile marker and layed up just a bit early to walk back and let my legs loosen up. Tomorrow will be a rest day. Anyhow did 3.79 miles in 38:45 for an average pace of 10:13 but I did walk at the top for a few minutes which is what scewed the results. Anyhow very beautiful run.
Workout :: YORK then Trivia
Well headed to the York Street gym tonight for a quick workout before my date. To put a plug in for the place it was Collin’s Brewhouse and on Tuesday nights it’s Trivia night. Nadia and I were the only members of our team so we didn’t fare so well compared to other but most are teams of 6, 8 even 10. Was awesome experience and a great time. I had Brewhouse Red which was a great beer with Nachos, here is the menu if you are curious. Anyhow for anybody into Trivia I would definatly recomment this place. Couple of the questions I remember, in Las Vegas Casino’s the black chip is worth how much? What year did Queen Elizabeth the II become Queen? Anyhow great night.
Workout was great as I did back, abs, arms and shoulders.
Running Log :: Off the beaten path
Well I got off the beaten path onto an different beaten path. I always run the same trail up and never get off the trail to get into the more woods/brush portion of the Chedoke trail. But today I decided what the hell. What a great run, it added a quarter mile buy getting off but was also much more of a challenge. Got back to work only to realize there was some left over catered lunch from some meetings, snatched up a bit of that… So the stats are 6.29 miles in 51:29 for an average pace of 8:14 minute miles. I lost some speed in the woods as there were lots of roots and logs to maneuver around.
Les Trois Accords :: Magog
What a crazy day. I would have to say it was just a continuation of yesterday. There was lots of wine last night around the dinner table in Mercier. At around 1am we were advised it was a great time to head to the arena to do some skating and play some hockey. Played around on the ice with some French learning to skate and and Equatorian who actually wasn’t bad on the blades. Time for bed around 3 am only to wake up at 8 and make my way to Mont Saint Sauveur to do some snowboarding and have a few beers. After the snowboarding time to make our way to Mercier to pick up a French couple and head down to the Fête des Neiges de Magog to see Les Trois Accords. What a concert, it was great inside the little tent. Managed to arrive in time to see the Fireworks. Great couple days in Quebec.
