Well my legs felt pretty good this evening considering there was only one lay off day. Ran a 3 mile run in 23:39 for a pace of 7:53 min miles. Weather was nice 16C, clear skies with crisp clean air (it was dark as I ran at 7:30pm). Ran Stonechurch to just past Upper Gage (hills). Can’t wait till the long runs start logging past the 1 hour mark. I also need to start getting back to the gym regularly!!!

Running Log :: Pea Soup
Running in some serious fog today. Can’t complain about this October weather that is for sure, T-Shirt and Shorts for the run today. The fog was so thick that it felt like rain drops hitting me as I chugged along. Today started out rough, legs very sore and shins also. Wasn’t sure if it was just shin soreness or the beginning of shin splints. Well thank goodness, shin soreness. I’m writing this at the end of the day and my legs feel good. I kept my speed down a bit so that surely helped. Did 7 miles today (long run day) in 58:17 for a pace of 8:11 minute miles. Ran Stonechurch around to the Honda Dealer (construction), back down Upper James to Stonechurch and continued on to Upper Paradise. Ran Upper Paradise to Mohawk and Mohawk back down to Upper Wellington and home. Great day for a run.
Running Log :: Day late
Didn’t get a chance to get out yesterday so my Thursday run ended up on Friday which will move my long run to Sunday. Ran a 3 miler tonight in 22:58 for a pace of 7:39. Ran Stonechurch again and Shins were a bit sore at the end of it. See how they recover, have to keep the mileage going up as I’m really pushing it for prep time for Disney.
Running Log :: 21C(70F) could you ask for more
Well it’s October 3rd and an evening run in 21C weather, could you ask for more? Ran at 5:30pm so the traffic was heavy and spent most of my run along the hills of Stonechurch Rd on the sidewalks (I hate sidewalks). Did another 3 mile run tonight and continue to improve on my time finishing in 22:42 for a pace of 7:34 minute miles. Cardio was much easier tonight. Quads are somewhat sore (were before I ventured out) due to the lunges at the gym on Monday. Might head out to the gym tonight, not sure yet!
Running Logs :: Week 2 starting
Well tonight was first run of week two. Weather was awesome. I’m hoping we get the same we had leading up to Disney Last year, makes for great training. Ran a 3 miler in 23:02 for a pace of 7:40 minute miles. Legs felt great and cardio is coming along. Will have to start wearing the heart monitor again and see how the heart rate is. I’ve been running Stonechurch towards Paramount drive and back which is full of hills. Great training.
